Our cooperative charter

Rooted in neighbor-to-neighbor solidarity

Founded by local residents to replace top-down charity with participatory neighborhood mutual aid, active stewardship, and shared cultural growth.

From porch to pantry

How an informal gathering grew into a daily hall

What began on a cramped front porch with folding chairs and a shared pot of tea has evolved into a permanent neighborhood anchor. We recognized that fighting social isolation requires more than good intentions; it demands physical spaces where people can sit across from one another, share tools, and build genuine trust.

Every workshop and support circle we host is shaped directly by the people who walk through our doors. No outside grantmakers or distant committees dictate our schedule—only our neighbors.

Operating model

Built on shared ownership and open assembly

We operate as a cooperative circle with transparent decision-making. Every member of our collective has an equal voice in shaping our workshops, distributing pantry resources, and caring for our shared physical hall. We reject paternalism in favor of mutual dignity, ensuring everyone contributes what they can and receives what they need.

This commitment means our doors remain open to all residents without financial barriers or bureaucratic intake forms. When we gather around shared tables, we honor each person's lived experience as essential knowledge for our collective strength.

Neighbor reflection

For the first time in years, I wake up knowing my neighbors by name and having a place where my skills actually matter.
